Antiglaucoma agent.

Therapeutic Indication:

Timolol maleate: Treatment of elevated IOP in chronic open-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension, aphakic glaucoma patients, some patients with secondary glaucoma, and in patients with elevated IOP who need ocular pressure lowering.

Dosage and Administration:

The usual starting dose is one drop twice daily. If clinical response is not adequate, the dosage may be changed to one drop twice a day.

Side Effects:

Headache, depression, arrhythmia, syncope, heart block, cerebral vascular accident, cerebral ischemia, CHF, palpitation, nausea, hypersensitivity including localized and generalized rash, bronchospasm, respiratopry failure, keratitis, bleparoptosis, visual disturbances including refractive changes, diplopia, ptosis.
