Pharmacotherapeutic Group:
Antiglaucoma agent.
Therapeutic Indication:
Treatment of elevated IOP in chronic open-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension, aphakic glaucoma patients, some patients with secondary glaucoma, and in patients with elevated IOP who need ocular pressure lowering.
Dosage and Administration:
The usual starting dose is one drop twice daily. If clinical response is not adequate, the dosage may be changed to one drop twice a day.
Side Effects:
Headache, depression, arrhythmia, syncope, heart block, cerebral vascular accident, cerebral ischemia, CHF, palpitation, nausea, hypersensitivity including localized and generalized rash, bronchospasm, respiratopry failure, keratitis, bleparoptosis, visual disturbances including refractive changes, diplopia, ptosis.

Therapeutic Indication:
Treatment of chronic simple glaucoma, chronic angle-closure glaucoma, acute angle-closure glaucoma, pre- and postoperative management of intraocular tension, treatment of mydriasis.
Dosage and Administration:
Initial: 1 or 2 drops, 3 to 4 times daily. Individuals with heavily pigmented irides may require higher strengths.
Side Effects:
Transient stinging and burning, tearing, ciliary spasm, conjunctival vascular congestion, temporal, peri- or supra-orbital headache, superficial keratitis-induced myopia, blurred vision, poor dark adaptation, reduced visual acuity in poor illumination in older individuals and in individuals with lens opacity.

Pharmacotherapeutic Group:
Antiglaucoma agent.
Therapeutic Indication:
Xalabiost is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Dosage and Administration:
The recommended dosage is one drop (1.5 µg) in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
Side Effects:
Eyelash changes; eyelid skin darkening; intraocular inflammation; iris pigmentation changes; macular edema, including cystoid macular edema, blurred vision, burning and stinging; conjunctival hyperemia; foreign body sensation; itching; exacerbation of bronchial asthma; increased pigmentation of the iris; punctate epithelial keratopathy; local conjunctival hyperemia; dry eye, excessive tearing, eye pain, lid crusting, lid discomfort/pain, lid edema, lid erythema, and photophobia,
The most common systemic adverse events seen with Xalabiost were upper respiratory tract infection/cold/flu, which occurred at a rate of approximately 4%. Chest pain/angina pectoris, muscle/joint/back pain, and rash/allergic skin reaction each occurred at a rate of 1 to 2%.
